From Breast to Bottle... HELP!!

I know I'm lucky to find breastfeeding so very easy, sleeping through the night etc... But I really want my body back, not my figure, my body. I want to choose when I put my boob in someones mouth...
Monday will be 3 months that I've exclusively breastfed Lieché, I am trying really hard for her to drink formula, as I'm going back to work in 2 weeks and do not have the kind of job where I can express during the day. But I give up and just give her the boob, and 10minutes later she's asleep and happy.
I have in the past given Lieché a bit of 'top up' milk when she went through a growth spurt (Lactogen) and she took to the bottle (Nuk) very easily and with no hassle.
We went on a little holiday last week to a 5star Big Five Game Lodge - Entabeni. Due to the fact that the lions will eat my baby if she cried, and that at 6am it is very very cold, I left Lieché with the Resorts babysitter for our 4 hour game drive.
When I came back she was sleeping and drank her whole 175ml bottle I left her (Lactogen) - according to the babysitter she didn't fuss at all.
Now I've read that I shouldn't be the one who gives Lieché her bottle as she can still 'smell' my milk. Is this true? And if it is, I'll have to go and stay at my mom's house this week so Futi (Domestic who's going to look after Lieché) can give her her bottle.
Could it be that she doesn't like Lactogen? Should I try another type of milk? And if I should, which kind? She's a little fatty and my mom said my sister and I both drank lactogen. So that was the first thing I bought.
I'm really confused and dread the following 2 weeks. Ppfff.

ITS GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!

Jeez what a mission to post a thread with one hand, I have to retype everything now because I did something on my trackpad and closed everything. Hand still hurts so bad, going to the doc next week Tuesday for the stitches and then they will tell me if they are going to leave the plate and screws in or take them out (see pic). The lady next door also fell on the paving the other day - we are at war with our body corporate. Here goes, again:

Firstly, what a nice Dr! I can understand why our house dr spoke so highly of him. He is brilliant - Layla wasn't scared or teary at all and even reached out to him he said "sy is 'n wonderlikke kind, mens kan sien sy ryk uit na mense" *so proud*

He says that her tongue-tie is not bad and he wants to see her again after she turns a year old (in just two months, I am beside myself with excitement for her first bday party - even if its OTT - its more for mommy, daddy and all Layla's friends and family. We managed to get to a year without doing too much wrong) lol... okay back to her tongue...
So dr says he will look at it again when shes just over a year because by then her vocab would have increased and he says it helps a lot that she is already eating finger foods and babbling - she might be able to stretch the frenulum out herself by then and it wont be necessary for surgery! I really hope so!!

The past 2 days she has been pulling her little locks of hair around her right ear - and when he looked in her ears he said that her left ear is fine but her right ear is 80% closed up due to fluid build up
Shes been prescribed nose drops (every 6 hours for 5 days) and a nasal spray that we have to get waaayyy up in her sinuses and spray towards her ear side - every evening until the bottle is finished.
We have to take her for a "druk toets" (not sure what that is in english) next week - and if it isnt better we need to take her back to him sooner because then they might need to drain the fluid *holding thumbs we dont have to go that route*

Other than that and me being insanely frustrated with being left handed for the first time in my life - we are all good! I see a lot of mommies at work are on sick leave with sick babies as well - and LL also said her and Evalynne are sick - hope everyone gets well soon. I am not a fan of winter at all, I just get sick, fat and lazy. lol.

Ian is 7 months old already! I can't believe it! And just the day before he turned 7 months he succeeded in getting into a crawling position! He is a strong little boy and doing great. He and his older brother has a bit of a runny nose, but it is normal for this time of year in Secunda with Sasol. They are loving each other more and more each day and Ian shines up when he sees André. But Ian may not play with André's toys as he puts it in his mouth and then it is wet. André moans ever time he does it, he just goes on saying: "No, boetie, no!" I can only laugh at him. They are both at my mom and they love it there! I think it is very good for both of them.

The past 7 months went by really fast and where I was stressed about how I will handle 2 kids and how André will handle his brother, I now know that God provides us with all the patience and knowledge we need at the right time.

I need help! Ian is doing great, loved his food up to now. If his cereal is not warm enough then he gags at the food. But I just work with that. He loves his fruit purity and the butternut and sweet potato I gave him he ate. He loves peaches and prunes! So, it got time to get more vegetables in for him and I decided to make food for him just like I did with André. But he gagged at my food! I don't know why! I tried the beans and the carrots, but he gagged at both. Luckily I still had a sweet potato purity to give him.

What can I do to get him to like it? Or rather to not gag? I really want him to eat his mommy's food.

Please give me advice! Thanks.

I was wondering if any of the other mommies had any issues moving their babies from Stage 1 to Stage 2 formula?

I have a sneaky suspicion that the Stage 2 Lactogen is not agreeing with Evalynne, whereas on Stage 1 she thrived. I discussed it with my GP yesterday and asked him what the issues would be if I put her back on Stage 1...He said as long as she is eating well I can put her on any milk I like...she can get her protein from her diet.

I haven't made any decision's as yet, and will probably email my paed before I make the final one but I really think she will do better on it. But she has gone completely off her bottles in the last month (we have been down to about 200mls a day, including her porridge) and hasnt put on any weight (she has not lost either) but she is sick at the moment and I suspect she had the same virus I had about a week ago making her nausea so that could also be the cause. I plan to wait until she is better and over this flu and see how it goes, then I will decide.

I just wondered if any other mommies had this experience? and if any of them went back to stage 1?

Would like to hear all your opinions on measles vaccinations. With my first child I was very nervous for her to have her measles vaccination at 9 months old - at the time (10 years ago) there was huge debates going on whether there was a link to measles vaccinations and autism. So after doing a huge share of research I decided to forego the measles at 9 months. I waited until she was 18 months old and she had an MMR then instead.

In two weeks time Presley is due for her measles vaccination (also OPV3 which is a new vaccination that was added to the shcedule since my last baby) and now with my recent research over my little girls other medical condition I once again came across all the anti measle vaccination research and so many parents convinced the innoculation was the cause of their childrens onset of autism. I am a rational thinker and I realise it is quite possible that the normal age for autism to start making its presence known may be around the 9 month mark as that is when our babies are developing into little social beings and mastering so many important skills but .....

I still have this worry that where there is smoke there must be fire???

Today our little Munchkin is 6 months old, Yikes to how fast time flies by. To think she almost didn’t make it and now she is kicking her legs like crazy when she is excited and talks to herself when in her cot in the mornings. And now starting her solids, I think back to when my Gynae told me to expect the worst, a baby with brain, heart and lung damage and maybe not surviving at all, born at only 1,54kg’s at 13h55, not to mention the prem nappies were even way too big for her. And now the perfect little Laylah Jordan has none of these, she made sure that when she cried her first cry it was so loud we just knew she would be fine. She is healthy and poops like the best of us and burps and farts with a huge smile. Oh not to mention when you play too soft with her she gives a fake cry and makes sure you know that she’s not happy with how you are playing with her and wants you to be rough, and when you talk to her sometimes she looks at you and nods. Maybe I’m imagining myself but when she mumbles little cute sounds, its sounds like mama and baba, could this be? Maybe… Mommy and Mama’s little “Brick” ( to those of you who do not know its Brick from the Middle). So Happy Half Birthday Laylah Jordan we will give you half a wish, half a cake, half a candle and half a present and many hugs and kisses which are definitely not half.

Hi

I was wondering if any of the Mommies have an older car. One with only the Lap seat belts?

I need to get Evalynne a bigger carseat but all the ones in the shops seem to be fitted with your cars seat belt. Can you use the lap seat belt?

For hubby's car its no problem because he has the 3 point seat belts in the back.

Thanks

Luke 23:26-43 The King on a Cross

Now as they led Him away, they laid hold of a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross that he might bear it after Jesus.
And a great multitude of the people followed Him, and woman who also mourned and lamented Him. But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jeruselem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. “For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ “Then they will begin to say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”
“Fore if they do these things in the green wood, what will be done in the dry?”
There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death.
And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots. And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with then sneered, saying, “He saved others: let Him save Himself if he is the Christ, the chosen of God." The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine.
and saying, “if You were the King of the Jews, save Yourself.”
And the inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin and Hebrew.
Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do You not even fear God, seeking you are under the same condemnation?
“And we indeed justify, for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this Man has done nothing wrong
Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
